Recently I’ve been dealing with allergies so I decide to get an air purifier. After doing a ton of research I decided to get a Dyson Pure Cool. This a a purifying fan that is both a fan and a purifier. It can automatically detect pollution and allergens and then filters them out with a HEPA carbon filter.
I was super excited to get this air purifier and set it up to get some relief from my allergies. It even has a cool app you can use that shows the air quality in the room. When the quality starts to get bad the purifer automatically turns on to clear the air. So I’m sure you know where this is going!
One evening I was in my home office working and I had some really bad gas. So I farted without thinking much of it. A few seconds later the Dyson turned on automatically and started filtering the air to remove the fart gas. Ha! At first I thought maybe it was just a coincidence so I farted again and sure enough in about 6-7 seconds it turned on again to clear the air.

The worse the fart smells the higher the purifier will turn on to clean the air. So far I’ve been able to get it up to a 7 out of 10 where its had to run for over 20 minutes. I’ve also found that it doesn’t activate for all farts, just the really smelly ones.
Here is a recent video of the Dyson purifier working to clear the air after a particularly bad fart! As you can see after the fart it goes up to 6 and then to level 7 in an attempt to clean the air.
Update: Had some especially bad gas that smelled absolutely terrible. Was able to let off a single fart that sent the Dyson all the way up to 9 for several minutes!
As you can tell I’m having alot of fun with this! Anyone else have a similar experience with a purifier?
